Project description
Danieli-Corus (DC) is a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality technology and equipment. An HMD process plant uses a chemical reaction to desulfurize liquid iron, allowing it to meet current high-quality steel standards. A catalyst is injected through a lance into a liquid metal transport vessel (90-150 tons). The sulfur to be removed forms a slag layer on the surface of the liquid metal, which is removed immediately after injection.
An HMD is a fully automated system and comes with a process model that calculates all process settings. The entire process is operated from a central control room via two or more workstations. Prior to commissioning, all automation was tested in a simulated environment. During commissioning, Tebulo was responsible for testing and commissioning the complete process control system, as well as communication with the customer.
The HMD commissioning team consisted of: an interpreter, a mechanical engineer, a hydraulics engineer, two electrical engineers, two automation engineers, a process engineer and a metallurgical engineer.
