Project description
For client Doedijns, with end customer Seaway Heavy Lifting: The goal of the project is to remove the current superstructure (slewing platform) from its existing 8-meter pedestal and place it on a new base frame. Space on the superstructure is very limited and critical for connecting hydraulics and cables. There is also significant uncertainty about the correct pitch circle of the new base frame.
Tebulo was asked to project the existing superstructure (no drawings were available) onto the new base frame. A 3D laser scan of both the superstructure's structure and its interior was created on-site. Using specialized software, the scan data was converted into a 3D mesh, from which the planes and sketches were created. The plan on which the drawing is based is laid flat on the top of the upper flange. The diameter of the pitch circle in the supplied model is 2084 mm, while the diameter of the pitch circle in the scan data is 2090 mm.
The design of the new base frame was adapted according to the dimensions from the scan, resulting in the slewing platform being mounted without any adjustments.
