Stedin is the regional grid operator for gas and electricity in the Randstad area and the Port of Rotterdam. It has offices in Rotterdam, Utrecht, and Delft. As a grid operator, Stedin is responsible for the construction, expansion, and maintenance of the transmission and distribution network.

The installation of a new 150/50kV transformer required a new transformer bay within Stedin’s transformer yard. Tebulo Engineering was responsible for the complete detailed engineering of all building-related installations for the 150/50kV transformer bay located in Merwedehaven, Dordrecht.

This project was carried out in collaboration with Advin, who handled the structural/civil engineering aspects and project management. Tebulo Engineering was responsible for the engineering of the building-related installations. The new 150/50kV transformer bay is a standalone structure. The low-voltage (LV) power supply and secondary systems are housed in a separate secondary equipment room. The engineering scope for the new 150/50kV transformer bay included, among other things, the earthing and lightning protection systems, electrical installations, and the emergency evacuation plan—all of which were determined through various technical calculations. Upon completion of the project—following Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)—all updated data were incorporated into the project documentation.
