Project description
Waste processor HVC in North Holland has decided to expand the 10kV high-voltage network on its own site.
The project involves specifying two chokes and two single-busbar 10kV installations. The total available power will be increased from 20MVA to 30MVA with the new option of feeding from both sides, ensuring continuous high-voltage grid availability. The 10kV installations will be equipped with a smart grid using the IEC 61850 protocol. Each panel is equipped with an IED (Intelligent Electronic Device) and connected to a fiber optic network. This allows for remote control and monitoring of the installation (including switch positions, status, voltages, and currents).
To install the 10kV systems and chokes, a spatial layout was created for two newly designed electrical business areas. The grounding concept was also developed, the cable route was laid out, and cable penetrations were determined. The basic engineering also included complete building-related installations such as lighting and wall sockets.
The entire 10kV network, including all extensions, has been entered into Vision, the grid simulation software, to calculate load flow, short-circuit values, and selectivity.
