Renovation of lighting in the Prep building and boiler house

Market: Food Industry

The Prep building roughly consists of a ground floor and a first floor, measuring approximately 45 x 25 m. The adjacent boiler house, with the same floors, measures 10 x 8 m. The current lighting in both buildings is outdated and in need of replacement. To bring the Prep and boiler houses up to date, the lighting system needs to be updated. The goal is to replace all lighting around, on, and inside the buildings with energy-efficient LED lighting. Indoors, the target is an average light intensity of approximately 200 lux at floor level. The entire lighting plan must be implemented in accordance with the NEN-EN 12464-1 standard.

Project description

Tebulo Engineering completed a project for Cargill to modernize the lighting system in the Prep building and the adjacent boiler house. Both buildings, measuring 45 x 25 meters and 10 x 8 meters respectively, have outdated lighting systems that require replacement. The goal is to replace all lighting in, on, and around the buildings with energy-efficient LED lighting, achieving an average light intensity of 200 lux at floor level. This is being done in accordance with the NEN-EN 12464-1 standard.

Before installation, a comprehensive analysis is conducted. This includes light measurements, an inventory of existing power supplies, and determining the new power supply situation. In addition, the appropriate scaffolding material for working at height is investigated. Tebulo Engineering oversees the process by appointing contractors and assessing the tenders.

In addition to the technical implementation, financial optimization is also being considered, including the possibilities for Energy Investment Deduction (EIA). This thorough preparation and implementation will not only make the Prep and boiler house more energy-efficient, but also safer and more user-friendly.
