Project description
Stedin is the regional grid operator for gas and electricity in the Randstad area and the Port of Rotterdam. They have branches in Rotterdam, Utrecht, and Delft. As a grid operator, Stedin is also responsible for the construction, expansion, and maintenance of the transmission network. The project entailed replacing the old 10 kV installation in the 10 kV substation on Kanaalweg in Utrecht and relocating it to a newly built substation.
Tebulo Engineering was responsible for the complete detailed engineering of all aspects of the new 10 kV substation Utrecht South, including the 10 kV installation with its control and regulation systems, as well as all building-related installations. The substation has been fully integrated into the Utrecht high-voltage grid and is operational.
This project was carried out in cooperation with Advin, who were responsible for the structural engineering and project supervision. The engineering of all electrical components was under the responsibility of Tebulo Engineering.
The engineering of the replacement of the 10 kV installation was developed step by step, and the same applied to the execution. The new 10 kV substation was constructed first, after which the 10 kV installation was installed. The secondary installations were placed and installed together with the 10 kV system in the new substation.
A transfer plan was developed to take over the old 10 kV installation without causing any network interruptions. This plan was used for the transfer of the cables from the old substation to the new 10 kV substation.
Upon completion of the project, after the FAT and SAT tests, all updated data was incorporated into the documentation.
