Project description

XEMC Darwind is a Chinese/Dutch engineering and construction company. They develop and build wind turbines. Their goal is to set a new standard in energy performance.

Tebulo Engineering has been involved in the development of a new offshore direct-drive 5MW wind turbine since early 2010. This turbine distinguishes itself through its direct-drive permanent magnet technology and a progressive overall design. This modern wind turbine is equipped with the latest technologies, which, among other things, enable complete remote control.

A modern wind turbine is a sophisticated machine that combines many specialties. Tebulo Engineering provided support services prior to and during the test and certification phase, focusing on energy (high and low voltage). Our work also included performing short-circuit calculations, FAT and SAT tests on the high-voltage distribution system, and project management during installation and commissioning.

In September 2011, the prototype XD115 of the latest XEMC Darwind development was built. At the Wieringerwerf test facility, the wind turbine underwent an extensive certification and testing program.
